Project Mindspace by Swayam Foundation
Our annual event aims at fostering multiple approaches towards exploring aspects of mental health for all age groups. It focuses on a much-needed dialogue on mental health, to have survivors and caregivers come out of the shadows, challenge the social stigma attached to mental health issues and create awareness and acceptance in the community. The event features workshops, sharing sessions, panel discussions, film screenings and performances.
'Still-Move'
Dance and Movement Arts for Wellness
Do you remember spinning by yourself as a child, turning giddy with joy, trying to balance until you couldn’t and hitting the ground just in the right way so that you do not hurt yourself? Or being on the swing and feeling the air? Or just moving in circles with your friends? Creative Dance and Movement Arts are energetic, fun-filled, powerful and effective tools for aligning, creating and discovering our rich inner lives through the mind-body connection. Exploration and expression through Creative Movement connects us more deeply with our communities, and our inner selves. The project consists of workshop series with fun-filled experiential sessions to create safe spaces of reflection, self-discovery and uninhibited self-expression.
Project Still Move by Swayam Foundation
What are the techniques used?
Through movement games, classical dance techniques, guided meditation, floor work, movement improvisation, authentic movement, use of props and rhythm exercises, all participants would be encouraged to explore body intelligence, emotional compass, kinaesthetic awareness and creatively interact to discover their own movement language. These workshops have been held across schools, colleges, community spaces, corporate workspaces, and studios
Purple Minds Project
The brutal truth is that every 3 seconds someone in the world develops dementia/Alzheimer’s. It can happen to anyone, anytime. It has NO cure. We are doing research and media advocacy on it to create a better world.
Advocacy Film on Alzheimer's
We use media as a tool to create an empathetic society and bring awareness about mental health issues, legal rights and laws, caregivers and persons with mental illness. Swayam Foundation supported the production of the film on neurological disorder- I Remember…
